I find that the problem most of us have in trying to attain or achieve all that we want in life, in relationships, in business, in family, career, etc. is that we neglect to handle the business of us.
YOU must be the priority before you can begin to handle anything external or peripheral. You can achieve the success or "the bag" but you won't be able to maintain or stay leveled up, if you don't properly manage yourself.
So many of us get lost in titles and roles. We wear so many hats and we become people pleasers, and often don't tend to our own needs. We're always chasing time and being productive for other people and not ourselves! We experience fear of the future, anxiety of the present, and guilt about our past in many instances. Too many of us are emotionally exhausted and overwhelmed.

Who Am I?
I am an OVERCOMER! I am a VICTOR! I am an EMPOWERED Woman! I am SUCCESSFUL! I say all of that to say that I am HERE for you! I know the struggle of wanting more out of my life and facing so many obstacles, many self-imposed, that I was ready to give up and I did many times over BUT I dusted myself off through faith and I learned how to handle the business of me.
Here's a little of my story. I was in my last year of college and I had an amazing internship waiting for me. I always knew that I wanted more out of life and I didn't want to just get by like the people around me. During my last year, I met a guy that didn't want to take NO for an answer. Here I am, on the verge of graduation and I now have to deal with an unexpected pregnancy from a sexual assault. My future was disappearing before my eyes and I felt completely helpless. I was blamed for being raped and condemned by those that I loved. I was criticized and judged and I still had to complete my final year of college while sleeping on a friends sofa. I CHOSE to keep my baby AND I CHOSE myself!
I was homeless during this time while collecting W.I.C and foodstamps. I had to go to a local food pantry to make ends meet at a neighborhood church that embraced me, prayed for me, and showed me so much love. I wept and fought through the pain while struggling to maintain my sanity. I CHOSE me! I didn't allow the condemnation to keep me down, I didn't allow the negativity to shape who I was or stop me from loving my son. I fought hard to not let him feel rejected and I would plead with God to give me the strength to love him completely. I maintained my faith and optimism and graduated with the honor of making the Dean's List. My most challenging time of my life also became the best year that I had in college. I was fighting for my success and now I had an even greater reason! This was the beginning of me understanding that I had to take care of myself first in order to handle everything else.
God has granted me the SUPERPOWER of Grace! I was not defined by what I have been through, I was not crippled by the trauma, and I was not overcome by what was meant to destroy me! I have an amazing son and we have an unbreakable bond.
I married a man who LOVED me and my son and raised him as his own and we have a successful 22+ year relationship (and counting)! I conquered thousands of dollars of debt and created a steady 6-figure income. I founded AlabasterNY, a Christian ministry of mentorship and caring for the underserved in my community, became a serial entrepreneur, author, and speaker. I am a Retired Law Enforcement Officer with a combined 20-year career. I mentor young adults who were/are close to making dangerous life-altering decisions. I partner with various charitable organizations that also cater to the disenfranchised and poor both here and abroad and my story is just beginning!
